چکیده
Interest in 3D-printing technologies for pharmaceutical manufacturing of oral dosage forms is driven by the need personalized medicines. Most research to date has focused on printing polymeric-based drug delivery systems at high temperatures. Furthermore, formulation development continuously challenged large number poorly water-soluble drugs, which require more advanced enabling formulations improve bioavailability. In this work, we used semi-solid extrusion (SSE) emulsion gels with three types emulsified lipid-based (LBFs) produce solid lipid tablets incorporating drug, fenofibrate. Tablets were successfully 3D-printed from using SSE room temperature, making methodology particularly useful thermolabile compounds. The well-defined mass and disintegrated rapidly (<15 min). Importantly, oil droplet size reconstituted after dispersion subsequent digestion was similar traditional liquid LBFs. This work demonstrates successful use fabricating based gels. method further promising demand production forms, necessary flexible adjustment e.g., pediatric patients, when compounds constitute core therapy.

Emulsion Inks for 3D Printing of High Porosity Materials.
Photocurable emulsion inks for use with solid freeform fabrication (SFF) to generate constructs with hierarchical porosity are presented. A high internal phase emulsion (HIPE) templating technique was utilized to prepare water-in-oil emulsions from a hydrophobic photopolymer, surfactant, and water. These HIPEs displayed strong shear thinning behavior that permitted layer-by-layer deposition int...

A convenient route to organogels templated by high internal phase emulsions has been developed. Key is the use of a waterborne polymer latex loaded with a multiple hydrogen bond (MHB) functionality that becomes disentangled and transfers across the oil-water interface forming a gel network in the oil phase via hydrogen bond interactions.

Inkjet printing is a powerful microfabrication tool that has been applied to the manufacture of ceramic components. To successfully fabricate ceramic objects a number of conditions must be satisfied concerning fluid properties and drop placement accuracy. It has been proposed that fluids are printable within the bounds 1 <Z < 10 (where Z is the inverse of the Ohnesorge number) and these limits ...
